A great discovery is waiting to made here at Ascension. Mark your calendars for Power Lab "Wacky Wednesdays" VBS. Wednesday evenings will never be the same! Don't miss out on the fun. Our first session will be Wednesday, June 18, 2008. We need more wonderful people to volunteer and/or help us out with supplies. I will get you a detailed list of items needed. Just one little item is a tremendous help to us. I will email, post, and run a bulletin insert to keep you posted. Children will begin registering around the middle of May. A Tale Of The Three Trees There will be Rehearsals for the Cantata: The Tale of the Three Trees for April 20, 27, & May 4. There will be no Rehearsal on May 11, Mothers Day. If any children would like to participate, please come join us at Rehearsals. All Children are welcome! Lunch will be provided. On May 18, we intend to honor both past and present acolytes during the 10:15 service. If you were an acolyte or know of know of someone who was, please be sure that you or they come for the service. If you have rang hand bells in the past or are interested in participating
in upcoming performances, please contact the new organist and choirmaster,
Victor Kovacs Jr. He is in the process of scheduling and planning rehearsals
for the entire music ministry at Ascension. Musical proficiency is not required
for membership in the bell choir. Mr. Kovacs can be reached in person after
the service, by email at victorkovacs@fuse.net, or by phone Coffee Hour needs snacks! If you can't volunteer to work a coffee hour, please consider baking something to donate that we can use. Anything you can give would be most appreciated by everyone. Please see Angela Webb if you can donate." .Food Pantry The Food Pantry needs Plastic and paper bags. If you can drop them off in the baskets in the Narthex, or give them to Joan Thomas. High school or college graduations in your household! Monthly Blood Pressure Screenings - Roslyn Ginter and Betty Ann Wolfe
will offer monthly Blood Pressure screenings on the second Sunday of each
month, beginning September 9. Screenings will be conducted after both
services, in the Great Hall (barring conflicts of the Great Hall being used
for other purposes). the next screenings dates are The Food Pantry is taking on a new mode of operation. There will be no deliveries, and the clients may come to the pantry of Friday from 10:00 a.m.1:00 p.m. to pick up groceries that have been packed ahead of time. This will begin the first Friday in August. We still need donations of cereal, spaghetti, & sauce, and canned meat meals. Thank you, Joan & Amy. Activity Clipboards are available in a basket in the Narthex for children. These age appropriate (ages 3-6 & 7-12) clipboards consist of an activity sheet, crayons and a piece of plain paper. Children should use these to write or color on instead of the attendance pads in the pews. Parents, please return the clipboards and crayons back to the basket in the Narthex after the service.
