THE ORDER OF ST LUKE
The Order of St Luke is an ecumenical Christian healing ministry and fellowship
that began in 1955 as a Christian fellowship of clergy and lay people interested
in sharing their experiences of Jesus’ healing ministry. A chapter was
established at The Church Of The Ascension in October 2003 with a membership
of eleven people.
The primary objectives of the Order are to:
- Promote the restoration of the apostolic practice of healing as taught and practiced by Jesus Christ
- Promote the practice of holding healing services in every church
- Promote a sound pastoral and counseling ministry
- Develop local chapters to promote healing missions, workshops, and prayer groups in their areas
- Conduct healing missions and teach Christians how to pray for healing.
After completing the study of the New Testament healing scriptures and reading
three books from the list of required reading, seven persons were inducted
into the Order of St Luke, St Constance chapter, in October
2004. Our own mission vision
statement reflects our given purpose and incorporates the broad ministry
of healing to which both OSL and The Church Of The Ascension are
dedicated.
